Guest Vocalist Susannah Martin.

Susannah Martin

Vocalist Susannah Martin is known as much for her professionalism as a singer and musician as she is for her scintillating vocal renderings of jazz, brazilian bossa nova and classic pop tunes. Her rambling 25+ year singing career has carried her along the West Coast through San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, to the Pacific Northwest, onto cruise ships through the Caribbean, Alaska and Canada, into Kentucy and Arizona and finally, back to her hometown of San Diego.

In the summer of 2005, Susannah arrived on the northern Arizona music scene and immediately established herself as one the area’s most in-demand singers. Her fluid, sultry voice is colored with jazz and r&b, along with a spicy international flair ignited by her multi-lingual singing in latin styles. Her well-honed abilities in improvisation and scat-singing lift her performances to further enticing heights.
Susannah's formal voice and music training started at the age of ten at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and culminated in a music degree from Willamette University in Oregon. Susannah has performed in concerts, festivals, clubs and cruise ships across the U.S. and has released a debut album entitled “Tropico Sur”.

During her long career, Susannah has sung with Big Bands, Jazz combos, Latin Jazz ensembles and A Cappella vocal groups, as well as Motown, Classic Rock, Top 40 and R&B/Funk bands. She has also served as director of jazz choirs and vocal jazz workshops, as private vocal coach, and as program director of Urban Harmony, a network of community a cappella choirs and Sedona Jazz on the Rocks, running jazz education programs for youth and co-managing a mid-sized annual jazz festival.

Based in Sedona, Susannah is currently showcased throughout the state of Arizona, although she also performs occasionally in her hometown of San Diego, CA. As an instructor, she coaches contemporary a cappella choir, vocal workshops and individual voice lessons in Arizona.
